Prof. Dr. Thanh Van Do

Senior Scientist, Telenor Research | Professor II at Oslo Metropolitan University | Founder of Secure 5G4IoT Lab

Prof. Dr. Thanh Van Do obtained his MSc in Electronic and Computer Sciences from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and his PhD in Informatics from the University of Oslo. In 1991 he joined Ericsson R&D Department in Oslo after 7 years of R&D at Norsk Data, a minicomputer manufacturer in Oslo. In 2000 he joined Telenor R&D and has been working with a variety fields such as distributed computing, mobile service personalisation, mobile commerce, privacy and security. He is now at the Telenor Research and in charge of Cyber security, Identity Management and SIM research activities. He has been project leader of multiple EU research projects and member of multiple conference technical committees. He is also professor at the Department of Computer Science at the Oslo Metropolitan University. He is author of over 200 publications at international conferences and journals, as well as an inventor of 22 patents.


Assoc. Prof. Boning Feng

Associate Professor and Head of Group for Cloud computing, Cybersecurity and Software Engineering at Oslo Metropolitan University | Co-Founder of Secure 5G4IoT Lab

Assoc. Professor Boning Feng obtained his MSc and PhD degrees in telematics from the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH), Trondheim, Norway, in 1985 and 1990, respectively. Since 2005 he has been Associate Professor at Oslo & Akershus University College of Applied Sciences (HiOA – and since January 2018 it became OsloMet – Oslo Metropolitan University), Department of Computer Science. Prior to that, he was Senior Research Scientist at Telenor R&D (1998–2004) and Associate Professor at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (1990–1997). From 1996 to 1997 Boning Feng was Visiting Scholar at University of California at Davis (UCD), Davis, CA. He has also been adjunct associate professor at University Graduate Center at Kjeller, Norway (now a part of University of Oslo). His field of interests include internet protocols, mobile networks, computer security, performance- and dependability analysis and simulation of ICT systems.


Van Thuan Do

Co-Founder and Lead Scientist at Wolffia AS | Co-Founder of Secure 5G4IoT Lab

Mr. Van Thuan Do, Co-Founder and Lead Scientist at Wolffia, has been engaged in software development since graduation from the Institute of Informatics at the University of Bergen in 1984. He has developed various applications from compilers to process control systems for the largest of blue chip companies and the smallest of start-ups. Mr. Do has several patents in access, authentication, distributed systems and web services. His research interests include programming languages, component technology, distributed computing and software design methods.


Assist. Prof. Ismail Hassan

Assistant Professor at Oslo Metropolitan University | Member of Secure 5G4IoT Lab

Ismail Hassan is an Assistant Professor at OsloMet – Oslo Metropolitan University. In 2005 he joined Oslo University College (now OsloMet) as a Senior System and Network Engineer and after 4 years transitioned to the position of Assistant Professor. His field of interests include Cybersecurity, Networking Technologies, Operating Systems, DevSecOps, Teaching and Learning methods. He obtained a MSc degree in Network and System Administration from the University of Oslo, Norway in 2005.


Dr. Bruno Dzogovic

PhD | Cloud Infrastructure Engineer | Member of Secure 5G4IoT Lab

Bruno Dzogovic holds a PhD in Engineering Science from the Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet) in Oslo, Norway and acquired his first MSc degree in Computer Networks from the University American College in Skopje – Republic of Macedonia and the second MSc degree in Network and System Administration from the University of Oslo, Norway in 2014 and 2018, respectively. At the Oslo Metropolitan University, he worked initially as cloud infrastructure engineer and scientific research assistant in the field of computer networking and mobile/wireless networks. His experience prunes to other areas of networking, including satellite communication systems, GPS navigation, surveillance systems, optical networks, as well as, computer hardware, storage systems, and cyber-security. At this point, his interests are focused mainly on networking research, particularly in the area of Software-Defined Networking, 5G networks & Network Slicing, Cloud Computing, Virtualization & Container technology, as well as automation. Bruno was also involved in interdisciplinary research, such as Advanced Topics in Biomedical Engineering, Audio Engineering and Art.


Bernardo Flores, PhD

PhD | Researcher | Member of Secure 5G4IoT Lab

Bernardo Flores is originally from Lisbon, Portugal. Bernardo holds a PhD in Engineering Science from the Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet) in Oslo, Norway and he is engaged as a researcher in the Secure 5G4IoT lab. His experience orbits around software development in the field of mobile applications in Android towards various sectors such as: finance, sports and others. At the moment, The research areas of his focus are: Web/Mobile development, Security, Location Awareness and Physical Tracking, 5G Networks, IoT, Identity Management, Machine Learning and Anomaly Detection, among others.


Niels Jacot, BSc

Software Developer at Wolffia AS | Member of Secure 5G4IoT Lab

Mr. Niels Jacot, Software Developer at Wolffia, was graduated with an B.Sc. in computer science from the He-Arc of Switzerland in 2013. He started his career in Polar Electro AG in 2014 as a software engineer for mobile application development. His research interests include software design methods, mobile application development, wireless communication, distributed computing.


Weiqing Zhang, PhD

Lead Data Engineer at Telenor Research | Member of Secure 5G4IoT Lab

Weiqing Zhang is a Lead Data Scientist at Telenor Research, where he works at a combo role of data engineer, solution architect, and data analyst on dig data solution innovation for verticals like telecom data and mobility analytics, as well as applied research like big data infrastructure and data management intelligence. His research fields include system integration, model-driven engineering, software engineering, data analytics, and data infrastructure. He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from University of Oslo, Norway.
